Get ready to get moving! The Sunflower Revolution is back and bigger than ever.  Thanks to our devoted family of patients, athletes, friends and supporters, Cincinnati's premier Parkinson's disease fundraisier is back for a seventh year.  This September, we are proud to host Cincinnati's best and most scenic bike ride, a new run/walk feature, a delicious post-event picnic and our signature patient education symposium.  The weekend kicks off with the excitement of a bike race criterium in Historic Milford, and food, fun, entertainment and shopping are featured Friday through Sunday.

Studies have shown that movement of all types is therapeutic for Parkinson's patients.  That's why this year, we are excited to offer the new Sunflower Stroll, a 5k run and 2k walk that gets everyone moving against Parkinson's disease!

The Sunflower Revolution was created in 2004 by Cincinnatians who sought to improve the quality of life for people who have Parkinson’s disease by raising funds for research and wellness.  The UC Neuroscience Institute, the University Hospital Foundation and the Davis Phinney Foundation joined forces to not only raise funds, but also to raise awareness of the need and potential to help those living with Parkinson’s. Since its inception, the Sunflower Revolution has raised $1.4 million and has attracted some of the most brilliant researchers and clinicians in the country to study and treat PD at the UC Neuroscience Institute. The Sunflower Revolution also played a role in the establishment of the Institute’s James J. and Joan A. Gardner Family Center for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders.
